NFT FAQ

What is an NFT?
NFT stand for "Non-Fungible Token". Which essentially means that it is one-of-one, a unique piece that cannot be replaced by something else. While the art associated with an NFT is a digital file that you can copy as many times as you want, NFTs are designed to give you something that can’t be copied: ownership of the work (though the artist can still retain the copyright and reproduction rights, just like with physical artwork). To put it in terms of physical art collecting: anyone can buy a Monet print. But only one person can own the original.

Is an NFT the same as the physical art I am buying?
No. While the NFT and the physical piece may look very similar they are different works. You as the buyer can choose to associate them as one in the same within your collection, using the NFT as a digital representation of the physical piece, or you can choose to have them as two separate works of art.

Why do they come with my purchase?
As an artist I am always looking to see what is on the next frontier. I believe the utility of NFTs (and the blockchain technology they live on) will become as ubiquitous and necessary as the internet, cloud technology, and smartphones. For that reason, I have elected to provide the original digital sketch of select works with each collection.

Can I just purchase the NFT and not the physical work of art?
At this time I am only offering the NFT of the original digital sketch of the corresponding piece as part of the purchase of the original physical piece. If you are interested in purchasing an original digital work of art as an NFT please contact me via the commissions form and I would be happy to discuss how we can collaborate.

How do I receive an NFT?
Once you purchase the original physical piece, I will contact you via email with step-by-step instructions. You can preview what they are with this helpful video. Don't worry, it may look scary but I will walk with you step-by-step through the set up. Once those are completed I will transfer ownership of the NFT to you.

What if I don't want the NFT that comes with my piece?
No problem! If you don't want the NFT that comes with your piece, simply reply to your order confirmation that you would not like to receive the NFT. Please be advised, once you state you do not want the NFT you are releasing all past, present, and future rights of ownership of the NFT.
